Performing Shakespeare’s Violence: Part 2
August 24, 2020
Back by popular demand! This class will serve as a continuation of our previous online class. The first session (August 24th) will begin at 5pm to review what was covered in our previous sessions.
*This Class is Open to All Students, Even Those Who Did Not Take Our Previous Class*
This class will be looking at interpreting the violence of Shakespeare using select scenes. This course will begin with an introduction (or refresher course) on breaking down and reading the text. Then we’ll interpret the types of violent acts that can be extrapolated from the text. This will guide our exploration of options for performers and choreographers express character and reveal story through violence.
NYCSS is very excited to offer this class online as it is an incredibly helpful tool for performers that we often do not have time to explore in our weekly class!
This class will be held in two parts over Zoom. Upon registration you will receive a confirmation email as well as an email from us with a link to the class. Class will be held from 6-7pm on the listed dates, but please log on 10 minutes before t o allow time for any technical difficulties.
*We understand these are particularly challenging times for everyone. If you would like to participate in class but are having difficulty due to financial hardship, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss other options.*
