Fight Showcase 2015
This special three-month session will focus on performing fights for a live audience. You will be cast, choreographed, rehearse and ultimately perform in a NYC show April 26th!
This session will begin with a brush up (or intro for beginners) of unarmed combat before moving into sabre. After a short introduction you will be cast in a fight scene and work on building choreography into the scene. At the end of the three months we will perform a NYC show with the collection of fight scenes you have worked on in class.
Start thinking about scenes you would like to tackle so we can pick one that will be best for this class. The whole showcase will be tied together with a Dr. Who theme (but your scenes can be anything) and is tentatively called “Fix the Tardis: Fighting through the Multiverse.” If you don’t have a fight you are dying to perform then I have a plenty in mind 🙂 Some scenes that have already been cast are from Game of Thrones, Star Wars, Assassins Creed, Pirates of the Caribbean and Buffy.
WHERE: 355 Broadway (just 3 blocks south of Canal) in the Gelsey Kirkland Ballet building
