Tactical Training for Actors

Take a hands-on tactical training course specifically designed for actors, stunt performers, and writers taught by veteran Law Enforcement trainer, Kevin McMahon. Kevin has spent over 20 years training Bergen County Sheriff’s Officers and will give you the fundamental skills and confidence to accurately and realistically portray a character who is required to handle a firearm.

There will be a Level 1 and 2 offered this day along with a special session for returning participants.

Level 1: 12pm-4pm

Level 1 Seminar includes:
Weapon Nomenclature
Gun Handling and Drawing
Cuffing a Bad Guy
Individual Movement & Taking a corner
Team Movement & Positioning
Hallway Movements

Level 2: 4:30pm-8pm

Level 2 Seminar includes:
Stairwells  (tentative)
Gun Disarms
“Set-iquette” for firearms
Door Breaches
Room Clearing Scenarios

Participants will practice working with guns during reality based training scenarios in a controlled environment. The Level 2 seminar will end with training scenarios where you’ll be divided into Officers and Criminals and have to clear a room of bad guys!
To participate in Level 2 you must take (or have taken) Level 1.

Took Level 1 & 2 last year?
You will receive an email soon about a special concurrent session this day from 12pm-8pm focusing on Filming Applications:
Safe gun use for camera (ie. where to point that thing)
Short bit of choreography with gun disarm
Mimicking recoil and gun shot wounds
Shooting Room clearing scenarios
This special session will be $125 if registered before March 31st and $175 thereafter.

WHERE: Battery Dance Company, 380 Broadway (2 blocks south of Canal).
TIME: Level 1: 12pm-4pm / Level 2: 4:30pm-8pm (returning all day)
COST: Each level is $75 each or $125 for both (late registration $100 each or $175 total).
